SPLASHSCREENS FOR KDE (infos and installation notes)All pictures used for the Splash Screens are pictures taken by me. All icons used in the loading bar come from
the beautiful Nuvola iconset, made by David Vignoni (find it
here).
These icons are excelent, and make the SplashScreen more coherent with
the rest of the desktopo if you use the Nuvola Theme. The links point
to a gzipped archive: after uncompressing you will have to copy the
resulting folder into
/home/.../.kde/share/apps/ksplash/Themes/ or
/usr/share/apps/ksplash/Themes/
(This is where KDE stores the splashscreen images). Then run the
KDE Control Center for a preview and to apply the new splash screen.
The directory will contain a
Theme.rc file. If something doesn't work, be sure that the name of the
[KSplash Theme: SplashName] in the first line matches the name of the directory (it's case sensitive).
yangshuo, china
I took this picture in Yangshuo, China.
This is a wonderful place, incredible mountains, splendid nature and
water everywhere. Farmers grow rice here. It's very peaceful and
relaxing. This Splash Screen for KDE matches some of the Wallpapers I
made with other pictures from Yangsuo. Just check
here if you like.

biggest an chaotic cities. This is the incredible Shanghai. And I can
say nothing else: incerdible, incredible, incredible. Go there and
enjoy the many faces of this city.

konqueror of the universe!
This an original cosmonaut helmet from the
USSR (CCCP) space suit. I took this picture at an exhibition showing
some vintage '60 stuff: arts, books, militaria, consumer elctronics
etc. I used an old russian rangefinder camera do snap it (check the
FED5
here). This picture is also a wallpaper: check
here if you like.
